Since my mom was doing this weird house blessing thing here, my friend (who will remain anonymous), decided to throw me a party at her house. *smile* I ate a lot more than I have in quite a while. if I listed it all here, anyone who read this would think I was a pig. lol So, I'll leave that out. we had a great time. Next year will be interesting, going to a bar legally. Thank God she's not getting drunk, as she's the designated driver. lol

It's much more fun to go to a party where you don't know anyone, get completely shitfaced, and not remember how you made it home. I would know nothing about this of course.

To Nymphadora, your party sounds nice. One of my favorite activities is hanging out with friends. It's fun to go to bars too as long as you know your limit. Here where I live, the summer evenings are great. My friends and I love to just sit on the patio of our favorite bar and have a drink or two, listen to great music and engage in some interesting conversation. If you're not legal yet, write if you have any bar-related questions. Last year my friends took me out for my birthday. Normally I'm used to spending time with my family since my birthday falls around the 4th of July holiday. I felt really loved and apreciated the drinks and the good time they gave me. I'm with you, I don't really like going to parties where I don't know a lot of people.

This year's party with my parents, 9if you can call it that), was okay. They at least remembered the cake. no candles though, and as for presents, none from my parents. dad says I'm too old for presents. that's a load of bull shit.

Ask your parents if they'd be disappointed if you didn't get them a gift on their birthday. As I understand it, you give gifts to people to show that you love and apreciate them. And those attributes don't have an age limit.

Hell, I have a friend who told me her grandmother on her dad's side still gives her mom gifts, and her mom is forty-seven years old.

Thumbs up to your friend's grandfather! I love giving gifts. I love getting people stuff. Easter baskets and christmas stockings are always fun for me to give. Some of the best gifts I've gotten have been small items. But it really is the thought which goes into a gift that makes it meaningful.
